A detective in a small Oregon, Detective Hazel Micallef, town uncovers a series of killings, while battling personal problems like a predilection for the bottle and excruciating back pain. Micallef has got to catch a serial killer, who targets the old and terminally ill for his 'mercy killing.' But Hazel simply loves her home to much to let a murderous religious zealot run rampant.
