Our Region
Formed in 1966, Southeast Regional Library serves 103,000 residents of Southeastern Saskatchewan. Library services are provided through a network of 46 branches encompassing approximately 47,000 square kms. These branches include the cities of Weyburn and Estevan plus 44 branches in rural areas spread across the region. We also have 4 community delivery sites (drop off points for library material circulation but not a full service branch). Together these branches and delivery sites serve 2 cities, 35 towns, 47 villages, 4 resort villages, 57 rural municipalities and 13 Indigenous communities. Southeast Regional Library is funded by provincial and municipal grants.
Strategic Direction
Our 2023-2028 Strategic Plan focuses on ways we can improve and increase service to patrons across our region. We're looking forward to providing staff with more opportunities to connect with each other and their communities, as well as ensuring that all of Southeast knows what their library has to offer.

Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation - Statement of Intent
We respect and acknowledge that Southeast Regional Library has library branches on Treaty 2 and Treaty 4 territories, which are traditional territories of the nēhiyawak (Cree), Nahkawē (Saulteaux), Nakota, Dakota, Lakota, and the Métis Nation.
Having a role in reconciliation is a journey that we must take in partnership with Indigenous communities throughout Saskatchewan. As our first step in this journey, the Executive Committee has adopted the following statement of intent;
Southeast Regional Library is committed to efforts and initiatives that build reconciliation based on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action. We value partnerships with all Indigenous communities and will align our ethical practices and protocols with our strategic goals. In partnership with Saskatchewan’s Indigenous communities, we aim to develop more inclusive collections, programs, and operations in our library branches. Approved May 28th, 2021.
