Lady Hope is residing with her Aunt Constance whilst her parents tour Europe. At a dinner party, she finds herself drawn to the captivating Beaumont: philanthropist and magic lanternist. Intrigued by the idea of his shows at the local fair, but unable to attend as a lone gentlewoman, Hope hits upon a solution - adopting a male disguise, she attends Beaumont's performances incognito. As the two grow ever closer, will there be a magical time ahead...
