Sister Pelagia and the white bulldog : a novel
In a remote Russian province, orthodox bishop, Monsignore Mitrofanji, sends Sister Pelagia, known for her wit and astute observation, to investigate the poisoning of his aunt's rare white bulldogs. When Pelagia arrives at the country estate, the nun is met with a cast of suspicious characters, all of whom have a reason to kill the dogs and, in turn, their owner.
