Happy Days Are Here Again
On the night of April 17th 1941 during one of the worst air raids of the London 'blitz,' a land-mine fell outside a small hotel in Jermyn Street, just off Piccadilly. Unfortunately, among the fatal casualties was one of Britain's most popular vocalists; his name was, of course Al Bowlly. However, out of the ashes of that smoking hotel, like the fabled Phoenix rising from the flames, grew a legend; the legend of Al Bowlly.
