Its 1996, and fourth grader Cecil Stevens switches to a new school after his parents, Tim and Lorrie, decide to separate. He's reminded of his lisp every time he says his name and bullied by his new schoolmates, so he decides to change his name to Michael Jordan. His entire school learns an important lesson about acceptance after he and his friend Abby start a business with the corrupt principal that sells celebrity names to kids.
