Aging U.N. functionary Howard Silk (J.K. Simmons) never had an inkling about the real purpose of the Berlin-based agency he'd labored his life for. He had a rude awakening, as he discovered that they'd been safeguarding a gateway into a parallel earth that the East Germans opened late in the Cold War ... and that his other-dimensional doppelganger (Simmons, again) was charged with capturing escapees to our plane.
