Kitten and the night watchman
As he makes his night rounds alone at a construction site, the night watchman experiences the sensations of the night, including birds chirping, traffic roaring by, and buzzing insects, while a stray kitten keeps him welcome company. After a while, the kitten disappears and the watchman worries, but soon it reappears and goes home with the watchman to be a part of his family.
