The dialogue "The Republic" ("Politeia"), written in the 360s-370s BCE, is considered Plato's central work. It analyzes various forms of government and develops the idea of justice through his model of an ideal state. The text recounts Socratic discussions filled with examples, mythological stories, and teachings. Despite its title, it encompasses nearly Plato's entire worldview.
