Bitter water : Conflict arises between the Cartwrights and Ben's closest pal. The son of Ben's friend decides to sell the ranch. Added to their troubles is an unscrupulous land baron bent on destroying the Cartwrights by adding diseased cattle to their herd. "Texas fever" spreads which could eventually wip out every cattle ranch in Texas!
