Death of a low handicap man

When Tom Tyzack is viciously beaten to death with a golf club on the local golf course, PC Arthur Root, the local village bobby, is in the unenviable position of having to question his fellow club members. He is regarded with scorn by the detective in charge of the case, and the latter's ill-natured attitude toward the suspects does little to assist him in solving the mystery. But it is Root who, after a second brutal murder, stumbles on the clue...
