Paddle-to-the-Sea
A young Indian boy from Nipigon country in the Canadian wilderness carves an Indian figure in a 12-inch canoe. He then sets the canoe into Lake Michigan and longingly watches it sail away. The toy Indian and canoe spend four years in a journey of several hundred miles, encountering wild animals, saw mills, fishing nets and a shipwreck, traveling through the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence River, and Niagara Falls before reaching the Atlantic Ocean.
