In 1971 a teenager was stabbed to death in Sydney, Nova Scotia. His companion, a Micmac named Donald Marshall, was charged with murder, convicted by an all-white jury and sentenced to life imprisonment. Eleven years later, after 2 RCMP investigations, Marshall was freed and the real murderer was convicted. This film traces the incompetence at every level that lay behind Marshall's wrongful conviction.
